Born at Peter's Creek, Allegheny County Pennsylvania, January 9, 1786 to 1822

Son of Jacob Ferree and his second wife, Alice Powell Ferree. Half-brother of Col. Joel Ferree. Isaac married Hannah Wall. They had two sons, Joel Thorton and George Spencer who were also gunsmiths.

Isaac and his half-brother, Col. Joel made gunpowder until 1810 whe he moved to Pittsburg where he had a gunshop until 1812. Was armorer of the 1st Regular US Infantry or 1st Pennsylvania Regiment. Was armorer in the Army at Baton Rouge from 1818 until his dead in 1822.

Isaac owned land in Arkansas and Missouri.
